Barry Jenkins

Barry graduated with a degree in Pharmacy from Curtin University in 1989 and has enjoyed a diverse career beginning in community pharmacy and moving into regional and remote hospital pharmacy in WA and far North QLD.  Barry held the position of Chief Pharmacist, Royal Perth Hospital from 2003 – 2012, was then seconded to the Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) commissioning project in Perth, a 783-bed major tertiary hospital, and has been the Chief Pharmacist since it opened in late 2014.

Barry was the driving force behind the design of the medicines management system which included pharmacy robotics technology, hospital-wide automated medicine cabinets, smart infusion pumps, and a digital medical record system for the intensive care unit.  FSH’s comprehensive medication management platform delivers real-time efficiency, safety and governance benefits and supports the hospital’s closed loop medicines management vision.
